🌿 What is an IV?
An IV is a small device consisting of a needle and catheter that is connected to tubing that is used to access a vein to deliver fluids or medications. It is also used to withdraw blood for testing, or even as a therapy (such as a therapeutic phlebotomy). IV catheters come in a variety of shapes and sizes, some nicer that others, but they basically function the same to safely connect the area inside a vein to the outside of the body.
